When Mike and Steph began Curtis McLean in 1989 their vision was to create an accounting practice that offered high quality professional accounting and business development services in a friendly client focused environment.
Client focus? Mostly it’s about the day-to-day, doing the small things that build a strong working partnership. You will always get our best effort.
You see, accounting can be a bit like going to the gym (you avoid the experience if you can). Whether it be grappling with the annual accounts or answering tax department queries most clients would rather be doing something else. We employ people who enjoy doing these things.
From the moment clients first contact Curtis McLean either by telephone or visit to our offices we want clients to feel at ease. You’ll understand what we mean when you visit our offices. Not the typical grey and wood-grained panelling of a traditional accounting firm but lime green walls and aubergine furniture.
Mojo espresso coffee or a choice of six different teas. Chocolates. Books you’ll enjoy browsing through at reception.
It’s difficult to judge whether your accountant knows their stuff. Or whether your books are being prepared correctly.
You have to take our word for it that we know what we are doing. After we have prepared your accounts we undertake a review of your Financial Accounts involving a 72 point check-list. We all spend hours training and up-skilling. If we don’t know the answer we will refer it on to an expert who will.
